Highlights from Friday’s UCLA football practice – LA Daily News

A brief look at UCLA football’s training camp practice at Spaulding Field

Play of the day

Running back Bolu Olorunfunmi is used to using his feet to make a play, but not quite like he did Friday eduring a seven-on-seven drill and definitely not for the defense’s gain. The junior dropped a screen pass from quarterback Josh Rosen, but accidentally kicked the ball up in the air, which gave safety Jaleel Wadood time to run under it, scoop it up and return it for an 8-yard touchdown.

Tie score

In the regular practice competition between the offense and defense, the offense won by scoring two touchdowns and two field goals on four drives from the 25-yard line. After losing the first two competitions of camp, the offense is now tied after wins on Wednesday and Friday. The prize for the winning side — including coaches — is jogging the width of the field and back.

Welcome back

Running back Brandon Stephens was seen on the field for the first time since Aug. 7. The sophomore was out due to an undisclosed injury, but ran sprints and worked through individual conditioning on the sideline.
